We offer both. Many schools opt for Armed (Class G) officers (Safe School Officers) to provide an immediate response capability to active shooter threats. Others prefer Unarmed (Class D) officers for a lower-profile approach focused on access control. We can guide you based on your risk assessment.
Absolutely. Any officer assigned to a K-12 campus undergoes a Level 2 FBI background check and fingerprinting to ensure they are legally cleared to work around children. This is non-negotiable for us.
Our school security officers are trained in “Run, Hide, Fight” protocols, lockdown procedures, and emergency communication. They know how to secure a perimeter and coordinate with local law enforcement during a crisis.
Access control is the first line of defense. Our officers are trained to direct all traffic to a single entry point, check IDs against sex offender registries (if software is available), and issue visitor badges before allowing anyone on campus.
While they are not counselors, our officers are eyes and ears. They are trained to recognize signs of bullying or distress and report it immediately to school administration, often acting as a deterrent just by being present in hallways and cafeterias.
